Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Currently working with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This represents his initial title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after spring of that year.

The win also signifies he has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one different tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.

The player's defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional title, took control to push for a third set.

The opponent defended four early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
